Come here Mr. Mike Blythe talk about Fall Management.  This is the most critical time of the year. The ability of the bees to survive over winter starts with what you do in August.

Manassas Church of the Brethren- Tue. Aug. 13th at 7 pm.

Here’s a preview-

  • Clean up partially filled supers by feeding them back the bees above the inner cover.
  • Reduce entrances to prevent robbing- get mouse guards ready for late Fall
  • Assess your mite load and apply treatment as needed.  Don’t wait too long and don’t get fooled because “I don’t see any mites on the bees”.
  • Start to feed mid to late August. Feed, feed, and feed some more if they need it
