Fall is here and your bees have been getting ready for winter for a while now. Please reference the wonderful *new* newsletter from Dr. Josh about Fall prep and more.
PWRBA is thrilled to announce a BEE SOCIAL next week Wed. Oct. 29th 7-9 pm, a HOLIDAY BEE SOCIAL on Wed. Dec. 10th 7-9 pm, and then a MONTHLY BEE SOCIAL the 4th Wednesday of the month (except for Nov/Dec/) in 2026. All are held at the Ceder Run Brewery located at 2801 Hazelwood Drive, Nokesville, VA.
All members should feel free to volunteer to host a bee social over a weekend, breakfast or any other ideas at a location of your choice. We are happy to support multiple events at various locations.
Many other activities are upcoming including Bee Club Meeting – Honor Our Veterans on Tuesday November 11th 7 pm downstairs at the Manassas Church of the Brethren 10047 Nokesville Road (route 28), Manassas, VA 20110 starting at 7 pm. Scott Thorlin of Persimmons Hollow Farm will show us how to make candles and talk about the many other value-added products of the hive they produce. Many of you may know Scott and Serena from the Haymarket Farmers Market, Culpepper, or the apiary at Verdun. Scott is also a Veteran and went through the Hives for Heroes program as well as the PWRBA Bee School- he is a wealth of knowledge and a great example of the art and science of beekeeping as well as the benefits of mentoring and being mentored.
BEE SCHOOL 2026- Open House will be Saturday, November 15th from 1-4 pmdownstairs at the Manassas Church of the Brethren. More info and call for volunteers coming out soon or contact Erik Brown.
