Fall Management is a critical task in the bee yard. The bees that emerge in September and October are the ones that raise the bees that are winter bees and carry your hives into the winter. Late summer and Fall collected pollen is critical to the health and viability of these bees   Even if you see flowers blooming, a long dry summer may result in a lack of pollen or pollen with little nutritional value. If your hives do not have frames with bands of stored pollen by the end of August, consider modest feeding of a small pollen patty.
