The topic of the day is honey bee nutrition. The principle speaker for the Fall meeting is Dave Mendes from Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. Mendes has been a commercial beekeeper since 1977, operating from Florida to California. He manages more than 7,000 colonies that are partially utilized for honey production and primarily for pollination Mr. Mendes is a member of the Honey Bee Technical Council in Florida, Beelogics Technology Advisory Board, Project Apis m., and President of the American Beekeeping Federation. His talks are entitled "A Year in the Life of Headwaters Farm", which outlines the different pollinations in California, Maine, and "Honey Bee Nutrition".

We have also been lucky enough to secure a few other well known speakers in Va Beek circles, including Brenna Traver, a Virginia Tech PhD candidate; Frank Wyatt, a queen breeder; and, Jim Haskell! More info will be posted here as it becomes available.
